SAI AGRO INNOVATIONS RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Established in the year 2019, Sai Agro Innovations, a trust based in Wayanad, Kerala, determined to deliver the best to the farmers of India, the support that they need and deserve. The trust mainly aims to establish a research unit for developing profitable pesticide-free agricultural practices and integrated farming systems. We also are determined to establish a model farm tourism unit. A pollution-free model farm with a crop cafeteria for fruits, spices, flowers and medicinal plants, most modern nursery production unit will be set up in our Headquarters, the SAI gardens, Wayanad. We will demonstrate the potential of a carbon-neutral agri-eco system by using non-conventional energy sources to run the activities of the farm. The model farm will be open to all including students, researchers and tourists for demonstration and instructional purposes.
Our Founders
Dr. P. Rajendran, retired Professor (Horticulture), worked as Associate Director of Research at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ambalavayal and Special Officer of the College of Agriculture, Wayanad, Kerala Agricultural University. He is a well-known Horticulturist who graduated (B.Sc. Agriculture) from the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala Agricultural University in 1980 ICAR Junior Fellowship.
He completed his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and was selected for the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Biology by Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Soon after that, Dr. Rajendran was offered the three-years Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Molecular Genetics by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the King Faisal University.
Adv. Rema K P, the better half of Dr. P Rajendran is the key person in the functioning of Sai Agro Innovations. Born and raised in calicut, and a graduate of Government Law College, Calicut in the year 1990, Adv Rema now begins her journey in the field of agriculture and farming. After 30 years of experience in the field of law, Adv Rema is determined to support the farmers, to overcome every legal obstacle that one might stumble upon. She is an integral cog in the Sai Agro Innovations Research Foundation, guaranteeing a smooth functioning of the trust and handling any customer redressal, confirming maximum satisfaction of our clients and building healthy client relationship.
