Guiding Minds Behind Sai Agro Innovations

A living sanctuary cannot be built on blueprints alone; it grows out of the care, lived experience, and convictions of the people who look after it. At Sai Agro Innovations Research Foundation, our leadership is less about administrative titles and more about a shared family commitment to the soil, the science that understands it, and the community that relies upon it.

Dr. P. Rajendran

Founding Trustee & Director

Dr. P. Rajendran is the guiding anchor of Sai Agro Innovations Research Foundation. With more than four decades in agricultural research and institutional leadership, he has spent his career proving that sustainable ecology and productive farming can thrive hand in hand.

A Commonwealth Fellow with a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, he previously served as Associate Director of Research at Kerala Agricultural University and played a key role in establishing the College of Agriculture in Wayanad. Known for pioneering initiatives like the Pooppoli International Flower Show, he transformed local farming into a hub of learning and growth. At SAIRF, he continues to guide research trials, rare plant conservation, and farmer education, ensuring high science remains accessible, grounded, and useful in the field.

ADV. REMA RAJENDRAN

MANAGING Trustee – Sai Amrut, Sai Vidhya & Sai Justice

Adv. Rema Rajendran focuses on grassroots economic independence, women’s empowerment, and community welfare. With over a decade of legal background, she understands the real challenges rural families face, using that insight to curate practical legal awareness and rights-based workshops that help farmers navigate documentation and land issues with confidence.

Her primary passion is building viable livelihoods through value addition and hands-on skill training. As the head of Sai Amrut, she experiments directly with native fruits and farm harvests, developing our foundation’s first line of 15 value-added products. Through Sai Vidhya, she curates vocational and processing workshops designed especially for rural women—equipping them with practical post-harvest skills, food processing know-how, and the tools needed to build self-reliant home micro-enterprises.

MR. ROHIT RAJENDRAN MENON

MEMBER Trustee
Research & Innovation

Rohit Rajendran Menon leads the technology, digital infrastructure, and smart farm systems across our foundation. Currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Energy Engineering in Germany, he translates modern engineering concepts into practical, low-cost automation for the farm.

At SAIRF, Rohit drives the digital cataloging of our plant collections, oversees our web and digital presence, and designs smart farm solutions on the ground. His work includes deploying automated drip irrigation, soil moisture sensing, and solar-supported systems across the nursery beds. His focus is making our 4-acre facility an energy-efficient, tech-enabled model farm that demonstrates how digital tools and clean tech can reduce manual strain and water waste for everyday growers.
